The blue signs at the end of rural driveways in the RM are the new numbering for dwellings and other structures. This year the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton added a second sign, which is the road number your driveway is located on.

The top sign consists of your civic number that is four to six digits:• The first couple digits of your top sign (can be 1 to 3 digits) is the road that is South or East of your property.
• The final three digits is the actual distance in 10’s of meters that your driveway is from the south or east road.

The bottom sign is the road number your driveway is located on.

• 118093: Road 118W is 930 metres east of your driveway.
• 7N: Your driveway is located on Road 7N
The intersection of Road 118W and Road 7N is 930 metres east of your driveway. The first three digits of the address (118) determines the intersection that is east of your driveway. The last 3 digits determine the distance you are located along the road segment: 930 metres.

• 11097: Road 11N is 970 metres south of your driveway
• 109W: Your driveway is located on Road 109W
The intersection of Road 11N and Road 109W is 970 metres south of your driveway. The first two digits of the address (11) determines the intersection that you are north of. The last 3 digits determine the distance you are located along the road segment: 970 metres.

Property owners are responsible to immediately notify the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton if a sign or post is damaged or missing. The maintenance and repair of the sign and post is the responsibility of the Municipality. Any maintenance, repair or replacement of signs and/or posts may be charged back to the owner for the cost of the materials required and any installation to be performed by the public works department.

If you would like to request that a sign be placed on a non-designated site or abandoned farm site the request must be made in writing and the cost of the sign, post & installation shall be the responsibility of the property owner.
